St. Catherine of Siena is a Preschool through 8th Grade Catholic school located in the heart of downtown Martinez, California. As a proud ministry of St. Catherine’s Parish and a member of the Lumen Christi Academies, we are committed to providing a faith-filled, academically rigorous education.

Founded in 1949 by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet, our school has educated and nurtured thousands of students who have gone on to serve and lead in their communities. Rooted in Catholic values and tradition, we offer a Christ-centered and caring environment for all children from Preschool through Eighth Grade. Our program includes before- and after-school care, and we exceed state curriculum standards through full accreditation and certification.

Each day, I am inspired by the eager minds, open hearts, and joyful spirits of our students. The strong partnership between home and school fosters a deep sense of connection and community, ensuring that every child is nurtured academically, emotionally, and spiritually.

Our rigorous curriculum, aligned with both Diocesan guidelines and California Common Core State Standards, includes daily Religion instruction, STEM education, and Physical Education. Students also participate in CYO athletic programs, and our small class sizes allow for personalized instruction and meaningful teacher-student relationships.

We truly believe it takes a village to raise a child.
