At St. Catherine of Siena School, your student will engage with a challenging curriculum and inspired teachers who deliver differentiated instruction plans tailored to the needs and character of their class. Teachers strive to blend innovative, technology-based learning strategies with traditional teaching methods to produce an integrated, comprehensive educational environment that stimulates creative & critical thinking skills. Students are encouraged to assess and analyze instructional materials presented to them in the classroom and to make “real-world” connections to the world around them.
Selected by Loyola Marymount University as a Blended Learning partner, St. Catherine of Siena School has integrated the Blended Learning Model into all of our classroom learning strategies and practices.
What is Blended Learning?
The LMU Blended Learning model is an opportunity for the students to learn at their own pace, at their own level, through small group instruction, individual and collaborative practice and using adaptive and assignable software. This program allows teachers to get immediate data on student learning and differentiate the learning in order to maximize student success.

Social and Emotional Learning
What Is Social-Emotional Learning?
Social-emotional learning (SEL), as defined by the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning (CASEL) is “the process through which children and adults acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to understand and manage emotions, set and achieve positive goals, feel and show empathy for others, establish and maintain positive relationships, and make responsible decisions.”
While educators have always focused on nurturing student well-being and helping students build social skills, research findings now support the strong connections between academic performance and social-emotional learning. When students are taught empathetic conflict resolution methods, self-awareness tools and effective social strategies, they deepen their social-emotional intelligence and are better equipped to lead happier, more productive lives.
At St. Catherine of Siena , our mission is to educate the whole child and prepare each student to be a Christ-centered, challenging curriculum preparing each child for a future as people of faith, service, respect, and responsibility.
